I'll start my review by saying something nice about this album: It's the second-best Rhapsody album of 2019! Yay! Now let's get straight to the point: what the fuck is going on in Luca Turilli's once genius head to do this washed, banged up excuse of a modern pop-ish melodic metal mediocrity disguised as a symphonic power metal wonder? The instrumental parts are really well done and the operatic moments are what I would expect of a Turilli release, I'll give them that, but everything else transitions from dull to lousy.

Fabio Lione is another good thing about this album, as he's a long way from losing his voice and has adapted to the years in a sophisticated way. His mid-range vocals are amazing and he doesn't venture himself into something he's not capable of anymore. All other musicians provide decent support—especially Alex Holzwarth (drums)—but everything just ends up being muffled by the mechanized orchestrated sounds and the overly modern approach and production. I had high hopes for this one as a longtime fan of old Rhapsody, but this is underwhelming, at least.
