Despite hailing from Italy, these dudes play a sound that reminisces the Teutonic power metal line, mainly acts like Rage and mid-era Blind Guardian. Fate of a King borrows from historical passages to tell its story, and while the sound may linger close to the German side of power metal, doom and even neoclassical elements can also be found here, namely in songs like "Conqueror" and "Harold Rex".

The guitars and keyboards are the prominent instruments here, with background medieval sounds providing support. Vocalist Gwarner tries his best to hold his own, but falls short in delivering an above-average performance; the guy ends up sounding like a less powerful Peavy Wagner, who is not that great of a singer to begin with.

Being that the cover artwork and the keyboard lines are the strongest assets of Fate of a King, the album shouldn't be remembered as a class act in the future. Rather, it's a decent display of a new(ish) band trying to find their way in the metal world, but that's it.
