This is some seriously dark and deranged blackened doom (I found out after writing this that they describe them as such in the press release, so I guess this just confirms it). The album is for the most part very slow-paced, h-e-a-v-y and sounds evil as fuck. The vocals are deep black metal rasps that are right off your worst nightmare, very effective style and delivery for the music. This is pretty raw stuff, but it's nonetheless intricate at times and you'll discover new things with every listen. While the loud, cavernous drums and sharp guitars tend to catch the attention, it's really the atmosphere that's king here, very crushing, not depressing but rather just pure evil on disc and it's so immersive that I lost myself into it more often than not. This is a good soundtrack to mess with the uninitiated. I've heard a little bit of blackened doom here and there over the years, but this one leaves a mark.
