Finding out that this gem of a Thrash Metal album will be later reissued by High Roller Records later this year has been a very exciting reveal, as this album originally released in 2005 has frequently found its way into my playlist over the last several years and is the only album from the band. As much as I love this album, it is neither perfect nor does it warrant a lengthy write-up, as there is a rather simple way to describe what is here in a way that people will know whether or not they should check it out.

Do you like Show No Mercy? You surely know I'm talking about Slayer's classic debut album. If you love that album, you'll also love this one, as it is one of the closest matches to the sound of Show No Mercy I've ever come across, if not the closest match of them all. Everything from the riffs to the vocals brings to mind that classic sound from Slayer's debut. What's great is that none of these eight tracks are cover songs, however, so it is left as an effort which feels like an extension of Show No Mercy for people who wanted more of that sound.

The closer and title track, "Wait and Pray" is a total banger, a hell of a ride that finishes with a great deal of soloing with energetic drumming and riffing that reaches a thunderous conclusion in old-school fashion. This is the kind of energy which has always led me to consider Thrash Metal as the ultimate form of Heavy Metal, but that's my personal tastes leaking through the keyboard here. One minor gripe I have here is that I think the original cover art is great, but the reissue has a new cover artwork which has a more modern look and just does not match the sound and feel of this album. The mystery which I look forward to here is that the reissue will also include some unreleased tracks from the band. Given that this album does not have a single filler track on it, I would bet the bonus tracks that come with the reissue will be well worth the wait.
