Necrodeath hardly need an introduction at this point, as they've been bashing skulls in with their sick brand of Thrash since the beginning, only getting angrier and heavier with age. This brings us to Singin' in the Pain (I see what they did there), their first release on Time to Kill Records, and it's still the kind of ferocious and intense Thrash that borders on Black and Death at times that we have all come to know and love. There is a bit of a gimmick at play where each track will open with a sound clip from some classic films I've never seen (Haven't listened myself, but judging by the song titles, this is a concept album based on A Clockwork Orange—ed.) before getting down to business, but it's never distracting and gives a good sense of unity to the album. Outside of that, you should know what to expect here: untamed aggression, killer solos, plenty of variation, and the deranged vocals of Flegias, who sounds more like Darren Travis from Sadus the more I hear him shriek at the microphone. The songs are all infectious, and this album has yet to leave my personal playlist, and they even know how to slow down and get more atmospheric and creepy, as on "The Sweet Up and Down" and "Delicious Milk Plus." A killer album from a killer band as per usual.
