Necrophagist plays a style of death metal with the technicality turned way up. Their style to that of Cryptopsy, but with more melody and vocals that can be understood, unlike Lord Worm's. At the front of the band is musical genius Muhammed Suicmez, who on this album plays all the instruments and also provides the vocals.

This album features some of the best instrument playing I have ever heard. It is hard to believe that this is one person playing all the instruments. The solos are excellent and truly brutal yet strangely melodic. It's amazing the way that Muhammed Suicmez can write songs that combine both melody along with brutality. The lyrics are simple and gore obsessed. They fit the music for the most part, although I think they could be a little more intelligent and thought provoking. The vocals do their job although they can also be a tad repetitive at times when they are repeated multiple times.

This is an album of musical masterpiece. However it is not a lyrical masterpiece. The music gets an enthusiastic 5 and the lyrics and vocals get a 4, thus giving us a 4.5. Fans of other death metal like Suffocation and Cryptopsy will eat this up, and any fan of excellent musicianship should not miss this.
