Into Eternity is a hard band for me to completely hate because they have flashes of some really fine work but then they just ruin it with sections of clean vocals that sound like every other flavor of the month band you can think of. The new album is once again more of the same and for me personally it is just getting frustrating.

The problem I have with this album is one thing and one thing only and that of course is the damn clean "I wish I was in Shadows Fall, Soilwork or N'Flamez" style vocals. The music here is great with excellent riffs and rock solid guitar work. The band has a really nice mixture of death metal mixed with a prog feel that really works well together. The musicianship is second to none so we have all the parts we need to make a damn good album and then every fucking song is just ruined with this fucking trade off vocal style. Why is it so hard to pick a damn vocal style and just stick with it? I don't have a problem with the clean vocals or the death metal growls or even the screams what I do have a problem with is having all three together. If this album would have strictly growling vocals or strictly clean vocals this would be such a damn glowing review you would start to wonder whether I am getting paid by the band or record label.

Well all I can say is if you are a fan of the band this album is everything you could have hoped for and probably more. If you don't mind the trade off vocal style you will also really like this album but if you are like me and this practice is annoying the shit out of you stay well away from this album.
