Debut from this one-man Canadian thrashing machine. By the pedigree I was not expecting much at all, but I have to admit Orcish Steel is a gleeful attack of extreme old-school Neanderthal Thrash. Starting with the marvelously titled "The Thrashing", Twilight Hammer rip through a visceral exercise in blackened Sodom-worship. Even the vocals are a dead ringer for Tom Angelripper on In The Sign Of Evil. Some of the later tracks, most especially "The Torch Of War" are cleaner and more in an early Kreator vein. All the songs here kick some serious ass, even the massive, thirteen-minute epic of "Passage To Babylon" does not get dull, sounding more like a guy who just can't-stop-thrashing.

If you like dirty, ugly, low-fi Thrash that bows down at the altar of Sodom and Kreator, then this is an album to get into. It's available for free download, I think, so it should be easy to find. One for the old-school thrashers.
