Pretty standard Death Metal from this long-running Canadian band. There's quite an abuse of double bass and blast beats that get old quick on the faster tracks, but things are more under control and more interesting on the slower tracks which trade speed for a dark, occult atmosphere – such tracks pretty much save the album from being "just another Death Metal album". The guitars, if not all that remarkable in the sea of Death Metal, are nonetheless pretty cool – fast, precise, slightly thrashy and sometimes even flirting with a more traditional Heavy Metal approach. The vocals are "sharp-sounding" growls that are somewhat intelligible, which is much more fitting to the band's style than a more growlish style would be.

Ultimately the intensity and atmosphere are what makes this worth listening to, while the faster Death Metal, while very decent, doesn't have much to distinguish it from hundreds of other bands. Check out a few samples before rushing out to buy it.
