I am getting pretty sick of new bands that can't even be bothered to A: put their fucking MySpace address on the CD booklet or B: create a MA page for fuck's sake. It makes it so much more work to compile the review info and dramatically slows down the speed with which I will get to the review. Anyway, the focus today is Swedish Death Metal band Icon Blood, who have a name that makes no sense and have released a viciously old-school blast with this demo. I could tell this band was Swedish just by listening to it, as this is slavishly imitative of the greats of 20 years ago like Entombed, Dismember, Unleashed, etc. This band has a great guitar sound and bashes out some good riffs. This is not original in the least, but that's not what they were aiming for here. Solid, enjoyable Death Metal.
