"Quick and painful" were my exact thoughts upon first listening to Nekrofilth's debut album. At just over 15 minutes this is one of the shortest albums I've encountered on my musical travels. Nekrofilth play a raw and dirty style of death/thrash metal with a hint of crossover. The sound is chaotic and organic, but I did expect the band to kick the speed up a couple more notches. It's like they're playing at 8 when they should be gunning for 11.

There's nothing really offensive here, although there isn't anything that hasn't been done before or is worthy of note. There are some good riffs here and there, the vocals are spat out with numerous profanities, sometimes quite annoying as seen in "Throne of Sluts" where the singer shouts out "in the land of fucking sluts" more times than really necessary. It's obvious the band couldn't give a fuck about making good music, and are content to make an unholy racket. This kind of music can be done well, but the energy is lacking and they somehow managed to make 15 minutes feel like a long time. Average at best.
