Wow... Something refreshing and even original sounding here for a change. Space Chaser is the name of this quintet out of Berlin, Germany. They formed in January 2011 and have already recorded a couple of EPs and a couple of full-lengths.

Musically, Space Chaser lands somewhere in the fields of NWOBHM-flavored Thrash Metal and Crossover, though the main emphasis is on Thrash. What I find great about them is that their stuff is airy, bravely innovative and they don't seem to limit themselves to some mold. Their songs seem to fly from one place to another with minimal effort, but damn they do sound catchy and refreshing. For the most part this is up-tempo and fast Thrash and thankfully it also has enough unexpected tempo changes to spice things up a little bit. One of the band's greatest assets is definitely vocalist Siegfried Rudzynski, whose vocal parts sound like a younger version of Bruce Dickinson combined with David White's (of Heathen fame) sharp vocal patterns.

Space Chaser's Dead Sun Rising is one of the best surprises of 2016.
