Some decent raw black metal here, heavily inspired by the second wave. As such, it is not overly – if at all – original, but the band's strength on this album is the diversity of the material. SeelenWinter contains a good mix of fast, slam-in-the-walls black metal that gets the blood pumping along with much slower, grim, cold and somewhat doomy songs that are can get you really depressed – times two on a rainy day. It almost feels like listening to two different albums from the same band with the songs played in a random order except that it all gels together very well. Interesting and with good replay value. |
