This is some really cool stuff originating from Yugoslavia (and now hailing from Serbia, if I'm not mistaken) back in 1989. Many years ago, a friend of mine originally from that area of the world had me listen to some stuff from his home country and I wonder if this wasn't the band. Anyway, Bombarder play some very raw, unpolished speedy heavy metal that will appeal to those who don't mind their metal sounding like it's amateur recording and very barebones playing. But that's part of Bombarder's charm. There's a very real, band-next-door sound and style here that's just downright addictive. Add the songs sung in their native tongue and you have something that sounds quite different and refreshing. It's a lot of fun. Fast but not overly heavy (likely due to the recording; I'd bet this could come off pretty heavy live). They have a cool cover of Exciter's "Long Live the Loud" as icing on the cake. Bottom line, I've been having a hard time getting this one off my regular playlist.
