Palantir is, as the Tolkien-inspired name implies, a fantasy-based band that plays in a Progressive/Power style on their debut, Lost Between Dimensions. The music is typical for the style, well written, with Blind Guardian riffs, Rhapsody flourishes and Pagan's Mind vocal lines. There isn't a real killer track, though the title track, appearing at the end of the album, is nicely epic. Don't let the brevity of my review fool you, Palantir plays quality music that might not be earth-shattering but that won't stop you from enjoying it. |
