More sodomy and lust on our way... This is Scars of Sodom.
These experienced and deranged Australian beasts come from Melbourne, Australia, and have been spreading their all things black infested bubonic plague since 2010. I have no idea how popular or known they are Down Under, but obviously they have already succeeded in creating a fair amount of name for themselves with their ravenous, blast beat ridden and partly keyboard-driven Black Metal. In a way these guys remind me of some sort of a bastard breed of early Burzum and early Arcturus, melted with Canadian Black/Death Metal war horses Revenge. I mean, if you take the sheer viciousness and unbridled aggression of Revenge, added with the unique eeriness and brave experimentation of bands like Burzum and Arcturus, you'll find these elements strongly present on this album.
The content on this record shows no mercy. It comes and slits your throat and wrists wide open at the very same time, waiting for you to die...ending your earthly passage quickly and letting you to meet your Master in a scorching abyss as an invited guest. But more seriously, Scars of Sodom sound actually pretty entertaining on Retribution of the Wicked.
