There are 20+ bands listed at The Metal Archives with the name Revenge, this one hailing from Colombia has released an impressive seven full-length albums and numerous singles, EPs and splits over their 16 years of existence. Spitting Fire is album #7 and after a local release is getting a wider distribution on Iron Shield. Revenge worship at the altar of Stormwarrior in that they play fast but with less of a power metal vibe. The lyrics are typical (see "Thy Axes Scream") for the style and the songs are enjoyable but also generic, the "fun while it is on but hard to recall after the fact" kind of experience. Nothing special but nothing I would shut off, I just wouldn't go out of my way to find it. |
