Barbarians in Black is the second album from Brazil's Armored Dawn and is full of rough and epic power metal with a Viking theme. There's nothing in these tales of Norse gods that you haven't heard already on "Men of Odin" or "Eyes Behind the Crow", but Armored Dawn bring a slightly progressive vibe to their music. It doesn't take away from the power of the compositions and gives Barbarians in Black a bit of uniqueness missing from a lot of other releases these days. I like it. Your mileage may vary. Now, if you'll excuse me, "Unbreakable" is coming up on my iPod so I'm going to stop writing now. |
