The long-running Swedish black metallers are still at it and show no sign of mellowing with age. Viktoria is fast and heavy Swedish black metal like we've come to expect from Marduk. Visceral, angry, haunting black metal rasps are at the rendezvous and are still a staple of the band's sound, with everything else centring around them. The drumming is either insanely fast or slow and pounding and the guitars go from "orderly fast chaos" to quite melodic at times, resulting in a diverse, but coherent, album. Glad to see Marduk still not making any compromises and blasting everything in their path.
