Mephorash bring us two songs on this 13-minute 7" offering. Their brand of black metal is rather slow, not going into doom territory but rather banking on heaviness and producing a dark, crushing, sometimes torturous atmosphere. The low raspy vocals greatly augment the effect of that atmosphere, with the vocalist sometimes murmuring some clean-ish vocals but most of the time sounding evil as fuck. Nice! It’s only 13 minutes, but it feels longer than that. That’s usually a bad thing, but in this case I believe it has to do with how easy it is to immerse oneself into this little atmospheric slab of hate.
