This was a surprise, as I really only listened to it to see just how bad a band with a name this stupid could be. Imagine my amazement to find it is actually pretty damned good. It's not original, as this is a lot like every other slightly stoner-tinged Heavy/Doom band, except that Goat Explosion have really first-rate riffs that make this an enjoyable air-guitar fest from first to last. Again, there is nothing about this any Doom-fan has not heard before, but it's still worth hearing when it's done this well. Vocalist/Guitarist Basti is not that great, but he manages okay, and they wisely do not mix him too loud, but rather keep the focus on the guitars. An unexpectedly fun album.
