I remember getting these guys' fourth album, Eternal Darkness, based on the album cover back in '83, a time when that was about the only way to find cool music. They made a few more before calling it quits, and they eventually came back in 2008 with their aptly titled Old Dogs New Tricks, which was very well received at the time. Now with 10 albums and a career that spans over 30 years, I'm happy to say that Picture still delivers the goods.
There are no surprises on Wings, and that's a good thing. The lineup contains all four original members, and the songs are no bullshit old school Metal in the vein of early Saxon with a kick of Deep Purple thrown in for good measure. There's not really much else to say, this band just rocks like it's still the '80s from album opener "Life of Life" to the grand finale "Stroke". They even throw in some more emotional moments that will get you pulling out your lighter in no time.
If you're in the mood for some good ol' fashioned, rocking '80s Metal like mom used to hate, then you're safe getting most of this band's previous output, and Wings is definitely no exception.
