Malamorte are classified as black metal, but they're really black metal in the same sense that Mercyful Fate are: In the lyrical sense. The music itself is no-frills traditional heavy metal that takes you back to the early '80s, even with a bit of the second half of the '70s here and there. It's not great music by itself: it's competent and even a little catchy here and there, but what makes Hell for All fun is the lyrics, and this is where the music kind of find its place. Is your head hurting yet? ;) The lyrics may be satanic, but quite frankly I've found them funny, largely because of the delivery which is almost caricatural at times—in a good way. I have a mischievous smirk on my face whenever I listen to this stuff, especially when it gets to "Son", where "You are the son of Satan" is repeated so often it should make you sick of hearing it, but instead it's just fun because the song is so catchy. The vocal melodies are sometimes darker, reminding me a little bit of when I was a kid in the '70s and we'd sit in a pitch-dark basement with some occult-ish album playing and we'd be scared shitless. Good times. Bottom line, Hell for All is no album of the year, but it's definitely a fun listen.
