Here we go with some more black/speed metal this time courtesy of France's Sacrifizer and their debut La mort triomphante. When opening track (after the intro) "The Grave of Nosferatu" came blazing out of my speakers at 100 miles an hour I thought, "this is going to be some good shit" and, for a while, I was right. Just listen to the titles; "By Fist, Leather and Steel", "Night of the Razors" and "Massacrator". How can those songs not be awesome collections of demonic lyrics and hellishly fast riffs? The problem is the singer, who isn't all that bad for this kind of music. He has an evil yell mixed a little behind the instruments to give it that far away, haunted feel but he also employs a high-pitched yelp that again, is cool in a Slayer "The Final Command" chorus kind of way, but he does it all the time. Like multiple times in every song and it is the same note to boot. It gets old about halfway through the album and becomes a distraction. I like this album for its unrelenting speed and '80s vibe, but the singer needs to dial back the yelps.
