These guys have been at it a long time and they're a fine-tuned black metal machine by now. To Fathom the Master's Grand Design reflects that, though at the same time you won't find here anything you haven't heard before—Horned Almighty just happen to do it very well. They mix a bit of a dark, malevolent atmosphere with sometimes speedy early '90s-style black metal and manage to make some of the stuff catchy and memorable. I've listened to this quite a bit and there isn't much to say since this is really standard stuff that you can find elsewhere. Don't let this deter you; it's good black metal as long as you don't expect anything revolutionary.
