This is "clean thrash" that reminds me of mid-80s Metallica and other similar thrash bands of the Bay Area—hard-hitting enough, but not as extreme sounding as the German school of that era. I don't have much to say about this. The album has its moments but it's largely inoffensive and feels much longer than it actually is; if your material is average, 48 minutes of it makes it sound like it's dragging on and that's exactly what happens here. Lots of melodies, not much in terms of ass-kicking—and I don't think it's too much to ask from a thrash album—and really just a bunch of OK songs with none that really stands out. If it wasn't for the vocalist sometimes sounding a little bit like James Hetfield back in the day, with a pinch of Chuck Billy, I wouldn't remember much from this album. |
