When I got this, I thought it was that other Hellion (though there are a few), but this is thrash from the prolific metal scene that is Colombia. Hordes of Witchery is really old school stuff that seems to take its influences from mid-80s German thrash. The vocals remind me a little of what Mille did in early Kreator and the music is really along the lines of what Kreator and Destruction, to name only those, did back in the day. Even the sound is a throwback, raw and with barely any polish, basically just as old school as the music itself. Hellion won't win any award for originality, but they've really nailed old school thrash with this album, so if you miss the mid-80s raw thrash sound, you'll want to take a look at this one. |
