I reviewed this band's debut back in 2018, and I found it pretty lackluster, but they have improved by leaps and bounds, and Apotheosis sees them really stepping up to become a first-rate band. The first thing you notice about this is the hard-edged guitar sound that really gives the sound a lot of bite while still allowing for a ton of melody. The compositions are still big and ambitious, with a lot of parts and complexity, but this time the hooks are up to carrying that weight. If you like hooky, melodic black metal with a lot of atmosphere and occult lyrics, then this is definitely a band to check out, because they are ready. |
