This is a cool EP of thrashing black metal that's mostly fast paced and melodic. The guitars remind a little bit of early Witchery at times, which around here is definitely a good thing, and even the vocals share some similarities. This borrows quite a bit from traditional heavy metal, with a lot of gallops and some squealing solos that just call for the air guitar and the whole EP is actually quite catchy. While the atmosphere can get a little on the dark side, I've found that, overall, the EP is rather upbeat and just fun to listen to. Crunchy, razor-sharp guitars, thundering drums and good vocal work all delivered with heaviness. If you're tired of all those black/thrash bands that sound too much like each other, this is a little different. Just solid blackened thrash with a strong footing in traditional heavy metal that calls for repeat plays. |
