I came across this band early in 2019 when I stumbled across a single for this album entitled "Shoot for the Sun" while browsing through Spotify for something new to listen to. The song was so insanely catchy I couldn't help but preorder the album and I am very glad I did. The band hails from Atlanta, Georgia and have been around since 2015. If this album is any indication of the quality to expect in the future, then that future will be incredibly bright.

The album starts out with the track appropriately entitled "Awakening". It is a straight up power metal banger but as you get into the song a bit you notice something slightly different in that the guitar solo is a lot longer and more varied than a normal power metal song. You definitely notice the Iron Maiden influence in the solo trade-offs and the album starts to really force you to pay attention. Then track two, "Divine Providence," kicks in and out of nowhere here come some harsh vocals and WAY more of a thrash influence in the riffs, and again killer back and forth guitar work. Track three, "Carpe Diem," is where everything really falls into place and you can tell this is going to be one "THOSE" kind of albums that is going to be stuck on your playlist for the foreseeable future. The album just goes from there with one headbanger after another and with each successive song it is entrenching itself further and further onto your playlist. The perfect mix of power metal catchy choruses with killer thrash and power metal riffs that play off of each other and flat out dare you to pick up that air guitar. At this point you are 6-7 songs in, and you already realize that this is a special album that you will come back to again and again, more than just your current playlist and then here comes the clincher...track 8, "Shoot for the Sun." As good as the rest of the songs are on this album, this one actually stands out. The opening riff is instantly memorable and when the guitars stop at the beginning of the first verse and all you hear is that bass drum...it reminds you why you love heavy metal music as you start to smile. This is the song that you will remember years from now that makes you come back or to have others listen to.

The overall feeling of this album is simple joy. These guys are having a great time and are enjoying themselves and that feeling is palpable. To this day I play this album at least every couple of weeks. Every now and then every metalhead has those low moments where everything sounds decent but nothing really kicks you in the ass and then an album like this comes along. THIS is a custom-made ass kicker. I can't recommend this album highly enough.
