Stormhunter's Ready for Boarding is a short 16-minute EP, their first release in six years. It is typical crunchy, Euro power metal that sounds a lot like what you hear from Stormwarrior, Wizard, Lonewolf, etc. It is competently played, loud and fast, possesses catchy choruses; you know the drill. The only deviation from the formula is a cover of "Antisocial," originally by the French band Trust and sounding a lot like the Anthrax version on State of Euphoria. Stormhunter sing this partially in German (I believe) and it is a bit of an odd fit with the rest of the EP. Ah well, as EPs go, this one isn't bad but doesn't offer anything you really can't live without unless you are a Stormhunter completist. |
