Debut album for this young band (formed in 2018) out of Texas that has chosen some delightfully old-school death metal as their weapon of choice. Think Obituary and bands of the same ilk and you get a good idea of what Frozen Soul are about. So, this is not very original, but they really nailed the style. Mostly slow to mid-paced, crushingly heavy death metal with a few faster bits to get the blood pumping is what populates this album. Some of the slowest parts give this a doomy vibe before kicking into a faster, headbanging-worthy pace. Definitely worth checking out for fans of old school death metal that crushes. |
