Do you like your Thrash Metal with lots of speed but with tons of groove in the breakdown sections? If you do, well, do I ever have a band for you. Korrosive is a band out of Toronto, Canada and this is their debut album after putting out a couple of EPs.

Equal parts speed and groove-laden breakdown sections are the order of the day on this album and it is beyond incredibly infectious. The riffing is nothing short of brilliant no matter the speed. The superfast sections have some great tremolo picking as well as just straight palm muted goodness. Solos that will melt your face with plenty of dive bombs thrown in. The drummer must lose about 10 lbs per live show if the album is anything to go by. It isn't just his skill behind the kit, but there is a palpable sense of anger the way he is pounding the fuck out of these drums. The vocals have that same sense of anger with the lyrics almost being spit out with a sense of disdain. This album just comes across with that angry Thrash Metal vibe to the highest degree. This isn't your happy party Thrash here. These guys mean business. Far and away, the thing that really stood out to me on this album is the amount of breakdown sections (for lack of a better term). This band has this down to a science. Knowing exactly where and when to place it and then making that riff just so damn catchy that it defies you to not move your head.

Overall, if you like Thrash Metal even remotely, you will like this album. Modern thrash that retains some of the old-school vibe but making it sound modern. This one shall bang that head that refuses to bang. Don't believe me? Listen to the song "Khaotic Evil" and tell me your head did not move and I will call you a liar. Highly recommended.
