Apostle of Solitude now feature two members of Gates of Slumber, rather than just one, so you can imagine pretty much how this is going to sound. This band has always been a fairly undistinguished Doom act, and this album doesn't change that up. The guitar sound is weaker this time out, and the lead playing is also lacking compared to their last album. Overall this is pretty dull, without songwriting good enough to keep your interest and not enough heaviness or musicianship for that not to matter. It's not bad, there's just no real reason for it to be here. |
