This is an indie band from Oregon, and I am always glad to see Trad Metal bands from the US instead of the more common varieties of crap. I was stuck for a bit trying to think of who this band reminded me of, but then I thought "Dantesco" and that was it. This band plays similarly sprawling compositions with a lot of parts that don't always seem to gel together as songs, but that all sound good while they are on, and vocalist/drummer Alex Noce has a similar addiction to vibrato above all else. There's a little Manilla Road in here, a little Solemnity, a little Brocas Helm, a bit of Slough Feg in the lead style. This manages to be enjoyable without having any really amazing songs, it's just good all the way through, if not great. |
