Demonztrator really knocked it out of the park with their last album, Sinister Forces of Hatred, which, er, demonstrated that they were a serious Thrash act coming to outgrow their beginnings as a cover band and leave their mark on the Finnish scene. This EP is composed of tracks that were left over from the last album’s recording sessions, likely because they were a little more straightforward and not completely in line with the rest of the songs. That makes this sound like something tossed out to make a quick buck and stir up fans, but while the latter may still be true, the material here is just too good to dismiss as a cash grab.

Musically, the material found on Morbid Journey Into Chaos is still heavily indebted to classic Thrash acts like Slayer and Kreator, both of which are most evident on the neck-snapping title track and the all too brief "Contradiction." "Beneath the Fallout" is the most adventurous song on here due to a moody, Metallica-esque middle section, but for the most part is a face-scorching Slayer type of number, and album closer "Terror Awaits" closes things out with intense riffs and Jari’s most sharply biting and merciless delivery on the album.

All in all, this is just as defiantly adherent to the Golden Age of Thrash as their last album while falling just a little short of it, but that’s basically saying this shit will crack your skull rather than fully crush it, so anyone who can’t get enough of beating their fucking skulls to Demonztrator will be more than satisfied with this brief release. Recom-fucking-mended.
