I was not expecting this to be as tight and technical as it is. This band apparently started out as a more grindy outfit, but after a period of inactivity between 2002 and 2009 they have emerged as a much more ambitious kind of band. I have seen comparisons to Nile, but really this has more in common with bands like Necrophagist or, ironically, Origin. The vocals are a low-pitched, burpy style that isn't great, but it gets the job done. Some of the songs get a bit too caught up in the technical aspect to rip, but that doesn't happen too often. Solid if not amazing. |
