The near mention of a live recording is enough to turn the music elitists away in disgust- shitty sound, cutouts/drops, lame audience you name it those are all aspects of a typical live session along with uninspired morons. Not the case here.
"Vikings cometh..." is a 7 track Viking metal epic performed live by Enslaved (8/4/00, San Francisco, California) to a crowd who were there to actually see and hear the fucking band, not stand around a go "Who the fuck are these guys?", blahh.. The crowd was into it as rabid fucks and Enslaved destroyed that day with killer sound and ability to back it up. Even the vocals sounded crystal clear unlike their earlier material. And I like that to, BM vocals are to fucking ordinary for me. HAIL THE DEEP SUNG VOICE!!!!!
While there's not much to say negative about this live CD release I would only have liked to see a track listing. Most people who probably never heard much of Enslaved's material wouldn't know the song titles. Everything else looks killer though, from the music to the packaging, it's candy for the eyes and ears.
Limited to 100 copies for diehard fans, this CD can be obtained from Yosuke Konishi at: email@example.com. Let 'em know Wilhelm sent thee.
