Some late mid to late '90s/early 2000s-style black metal here from this German duo. I'm reminded a bit of the slow to mid-paced stuff of the likes of Canada's Megiddo and also Judas Iscariot, but also more bands than I can possibly remember (you listen to a lot of music, you forget names, even yours, sometimes). The black metal here is a bit on the slow side, the kind of some that gets the head bobbing and the foot tapping, so kind of "relaxing" stuff. The guitars are crunchy and heavy and are the highlight here along with the sombre, creepy vocals and the dark yet soothing atmosphere that's wrapped around the ensemble. It's melodic without being watered down, just good old black metal free of any gimmicks. That's always welcome in this house. |
