I'm a huge Scandinavian metal psycho fan. Sometimes I daydream about another Interment album. You know, Scent of the Buried was released 9 years ago. It's a pretty big time gap. I've been also waiting for the new Kryptan record and, fortunately, this one came out a few days ago. But wait, there's more. The dudes from both these hordes play in Moondark, an old Swedish band that had a short run in 1993. They returned after decades and finally released their first longplay, which is a collection of 8 killer death/doom metal tracks. It appeared to be a nice way to cleanse the palate after gobbling a couple of dozens of really intense death metal records. Moondark puts all the money on the atmosphere, slow riffs and haunting melodies and it pays off. Take it for a ride, especially in case you're into slower stuff straight from the catacombs. These guys have performed in a lot of bands in the last 30 years; they know the drill and how to grab your attention. |
