First full-length album for this French/Swiss band, Le dernier qui s'en va éteint la lumière (roughly, "the last one out turns the lights off") sees I C No throwing some psychotic black metal at us. These guys certainly sound pissed off, and who could blame them nowadays? Overall this is really weird black metal with some seriously demented vocals (in French, but like on their EP, good luck deciphering most of them anyway). I can't help but draw some parallels with Anaal Nathrakh, though I C No aren't quite that crazy sounding. It's chaotic, messy and all over the place, the kind of stuff that will make the uninitiated scream (more like cry) "noise! Mommy!" It's like a very disturbed aural nightmare that swirls your brain and makes you wonder what the hell just ran you over once the music stops. If you like your black metal messed up and out of the norm, then this is the album for you.
