Fifth album for this traditional metal band out of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and a step up from Vicious Breed, their third album and the last one I reviewed. Singer Deborah Levine continues to drive Lady Beast's songs with her powerful midrange voice as she belts out her lines like an angrier Marta Gabriel. There isn't a true killer cut on The Inner Alchemist, but the quality across the entire album is pretty damn high, and I'll always take a whole album of really good stuff over one with a couple of great songs and a bunch of crap. The guitar sound is excellent, and the riffs are sure to get your head banging in no time. The Inner Alchemist should be in the collections of any fan that ranks releases from bands like Crystal Viper, Tower and Sanhedrin among their favorites. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
