I had a hunch looking at the cover that this was going to be Slavic doom/death, and the music definitely follows suit. Considering the undoubtedly difficult circumstances in making this, I wish I had more to say about it, but it's really no more than what's on the tin. The songs are long and gloomy, the vocals a decent harsh bellow, and while there's some decent mood and a few good melodies to be found, every song falls into the plodding trap and loses any drama the songs might have built thanks to repetitive, overlong compositions that just don't do enough to justify their length. Not offensive, but typical and unexciting. |
