The bad news: These guys hate me. Another very short release, when I've been asking for a full length for over 2 years now! :) The good news: This rules just as much, if not more than the previous two releases. This ones leans more toward thrash, HEAVY thrash in fact as you'll take quite a pounding while listening to this stuff. "Abrasive growls" make up the vocals, very low growls in fact - don't expect any high pitched vocals here. "Die for my Sins" and "Dark Desires" are quite speedy and can give one quite a neck ache through massive headbanging as a result of listening to them too much, while "The Pit and the Pendulum" is much slower and heavy, quite a contrast from the other two. Thrashy riffs mixed with piercing solos are once again the tool of the trade and the recipe for yet another great release. Even the vocal lines are memorable, which is quite something considering the type of vocals. The best description I could give is probably the unholy marriage between Desaster and The Crown. Convinced?
Once again I hope Serpent will soon release a full-length, they are just too good to stick to short releases like this (or could that be their secret? hmmm...) In the meantime, look for anything they've released and grab it, this is good stuff, simple as that.
