This review is basically just a teaser for readers as this album is pretty much impossible to find anywhere. You will be lucky to spot this one in a used bin somewhere. Anyway…ADX are (were?) an unknown French thrash metal band that were masters of their craft. These guys were everything that 80's thrash metal was praised for and everything modern thrash bands seem incapable of doing. Seriously….why does every new thrash band have to be a death blend? Just mimic this stuff dammit! I'll buy it! Anyway, I do not know much about this band myself other than the fact that they are from France, and have several albums released on small little labels here and there, with "Weird Visions" being the only one sung in English and supported by a major label.

There is no nonsense on this disc, no gimmickery, no pretensions or anything…this is just pure thrash metal to the bone and everything about it just screams greatness. The production job is crystal and the riffs are simply stellar – fast, and plentiful… no turning back and no repeats. Solos too are pretty cool although the riffs are the highlight of the album. "King of Pain" features some ultra cool riff work and never lets up…riff after riff. Towards the end however, some songs don't capture the same magic. Two weak tracks I would say. The DIO cover is awesome as well and I really have nothing bad to say about this album other than the fact that consistency is missing on one or two songs. "Sign of Time" for example really detracts from the album with its unusual tempo changes. And the track "Trouble" is…well I could swear it is a whole different band altogether and I don't know where it came from.

Anyway….looking for a pure thrashterpiece untouched by time? Start your search now – This gem is hard to find, but believe me you will not be disappointed if you like the 80's thrash sound.
