19 tracks of blistering fury clocking in under 44 minutes! Who else but the English Death/Grind forefathers Napalm Death back once again to offer us the continuation of 1999's "LNF Part I". Consisting entirely of cover versions of old school thrash metal songs (the bulk of which totally by underground and unknown bands), this disc definitely has the nutrients to please thrashers and death metallers. This is not Grindcore really. Most, if not all of these tracks are death metal versions of thrash songs, and although all of them are very fast and pretty short in length, this is not about 4000 BPM and burping monstrously on the mic type of music. These songs are furious and hit smack dab in the face without ever letting up. Thrashy Death Metal the way it should be.

The booklet is also something worth mentioning. Every song has a little paragraph written about it and the comments are very interesting to read. Particularly what is written regarding Hellhammer. It seems Napalm Death have pretty high respects for this band, but they do throw a low blow to the black metal scene in general by pointing out that Hellhammer were actually a creative outfit unlike the black metal bands that made icons of them by purely focusing on their satanic tradition. The booklet is actually very interesting on this release.

Anyway, I am not particularly a grind fan but this album has been on constant rotation in my player since I got it. So brutal, you might want to take a few deep breaths before slipping this one in. A totally astounding cover album. Cover albums almost always suck horribly. This one breaks the norm. You know what to expect from this one….
