Debut album from this legendary Canadian band, and thar she thrashes! "Alice In Hell" is perhaps the work that Annihilator are best known for and something they never managed to top. Annihilator played a technical form of thrash metal dosed with good choppy riffs and somewhat melodic vocals. It is neither ultra fast, nor is it particularly "evil"…just fun and kind of groovy. Tracks like "Alison Hell" or "Buzzsaw Blade" for example are so damn addictive, it is a little difficult to get rid of this one once it makes its way into the player. This isn't Bay Area, or the European style, it's the Canadian one and although it is still thrash metal, it is distinguishable enough not to be lumped in with any "crowd".

This review exists only for formality purposes and doing justice to a classic. Most metalheads must have at least heard of Annihilator and therefore should do themselves a favour and check this baby out if they have not already done so. The reissue of this album also comes with three bonus tracks that were part of Annihilator's early demos. Enjoy…
