Review

Seventh release for those Death Metal veterans, but in my case, this is my first Morbid Angel album. So no comparison with their previous material...

While I find this a overall a very good album, I didn't find it outstanding enough to give it more than a 4/5. Very decent playing, standard Death vocals, but I find the whole album pretty much follows the same beat all along, not unusual in Death Metal. I have to wonder why though, some more variety wouldn't hurt. Don't get me wrong here, this is good stuff, and Death Metal fans will most certainly enjoy this album. I found it a little above average, with no surprises. The lyrics are pretty well done, but, again, no surprises. Bottom line, this is an album that I enjoy listening to, but it doesn't inspire me much. That may or may not make sense to you :). If you're into Death Metal, buy this. If you're not... well, it all depends on whether or not you like experimenting...
