I dig Skeletonwitch, and I liked their debut self-released album At One With The Shadows a lot, despite a few flaws, so I was pleased to get this, an EP they just put out a few months ago. This is just something to keep the fires going until they can get a deal and a proper album out. I like it, and it shows the 'Witch moving forward, but not as much as I would have hoped. The production is clearer but kind of flat, and the riffs are not as punchy as on the debut. Vocalist Chance Garnett has improved a lot, but that just means he's bad rather than ridiculously bad. I don't know, the songs here sound a little half-assed, and I hope this band isn't going to fizzle before they get a proper debut out. Worship The Witch is pretty good underground thrashing, but it doesn't seem to have the spark of the debut. I'll keep my hopes up for a proper album, until then this will have to do.
