There aren't that many albums that completely epitomize the uncompromising relentlessness of brutal technical death metal as much as this album does. Sure, there are a lot of similarly styled bands out there in this style of music (most of which blend into one, muddy cacophony), but to me, these guys are a very exciting prospect indeed going by this, which is their only release so far. Even the most brutal of death metal albums usually have a song or two where the pace is relaxed slightly, but not on this sick fuck of an album. This is what Deeds of Flesh, Hate Eternal and even the masters Suffocation hear in their wet dreams....
There is simply no let up whatsoever, as a torrent of detuned carnage and hatefully precise blast-beats flush you away like a helpless piece of sputum on the surface of the ocean. All you can do is hold on and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of twisting, barbed riffs and pummeling drums. Although I haven't actually tried counting the number of riffs on this album (whatever happened to labels putting stickers on covers proclaiming the exact number as a marketing ploy, a la Dark Angel?!), I reckon it must come somewhere into the hundreds easily. Brutal technicality at its very best – here's to their next release!
